GEA Programme No. 317 - June 2008 ================================= Summer meal time You will find one or more meals on the GEA programme in any month. This month we go Chinese and Italian; or call it rice and noodles, tapas and pasta. But in summer more meals are taken al fresco than indoors, and restaurant give way to beer gardens, picnics and barbecues. You will find them all on the programme page. Reviews of Meals in May Whit Sunday Lunch: taken on the pavement outdoors; excellent food, pleasant company. Chinese Meal 17th May: overbooked but those who got a place were happy with both location and food. Wa-Wi 22.05.2008 On a cloudy and drizzly day, more than 30 people found their way to the Jazz Beer Garden in Großhesselohe, by bike, by train, or with their own car. Some even danced to the foot-tapping music of the trad Jazz Band from Prague. Return of the Andechs Convention There will be at least four routes to the beer garden at the world-famous monastery on the 8th June, when the GEA converge on the scene. (Please pray for better weather than was given us on 22nd May.) Our original/traditional 5-hour hike from Tutzing, with picnic possibility at midday, will be trodden once again; there will also be a cycle ride starting in Munich, and of course the short walk from Herrsching station. If you cant make any of these, you will just have to take a bus or your own car to the village and ascend the mount by yourself. See you at the top. The beer and the view are worth it! Committee news For personal reasons, Paul Lau has resigned his post.
